God is everywhere? Part 1

We’ve all heard the phrase that God is omnipresent but what does that really mean? This is something that I was really thinking hard a few weeks back and wanted to get a better understanding.

What Does Omnipresent Actually Mean?

Accordingly to the Merriam-Webster dictionary Omnipresent simply means "present in all places at all times" So this means that God is everywhere at all times. You can't run or hide from God. In fact Jeremiah 23:24 states that "Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?" declares the LORD. "Do not I fill heaven and earth?" declares the LORD. " So right here God states that He is indeed everywhere. So if God is everywhere then His presence is also everywhere. But if you are like me I still wanted to know more how does this work?

How does this work? How is God everywhere?

God Holds Everything Together!

We find out in Colossians that everything we see, everything we feel, everything we eat, all of it holds together by God, yes that includes you and me! Here is the scripture so that you can see for yourself! Colossians 1:17 "He is before all things, and in him all things hold together." See didn't I tell you? So as you can see, God holds everything together and His presence is everywhere because He is everywhere.

Example time

What would happen if you sprayed yourself with perfume or colgene and walk around your house. People around you would be able to smell you and know that you are there right? And as long as you are in there in the room the smell will remain. Now think about that on a larger scale. You, yourself was the house and everyone was living inside you. You constantly emitted an amazing aroma and everyone knew you were there all the time because you held it all together.
